INTRODUCTION AND PROJECT OVERVIEW
NWSLC invites tenders for the development of a new college website. The website will be hosted externally and built using a well-established CMS such as WordPress, incorporating industry-standard plugins to ensure functionality, security, and scalability. As part of this project the system must be able to have microsites that have their own branding, themes, security and URL which can be managed through the same portal.
This web project will need to cover/combine the following existing URLs:
https://mti.ac.uk / https://miratechnologyinstitute.co.uk/
https://digital-skillsacademy.co.uk/
https://www.hyvetraining.ac.uk/
The tender for this site includes project scoping, design, build, handover and support.
The project aims to create a modern, user-friendly website that meets the needs of students, staff, and visitors. The website should be responsive, accessible, and easy to manage.
The supplier will be required to support an additional development work commissioned by the College; in particular, the College are looking to develop the availability and reliability of the reporting function. Suppliers are requested to note that any development work is at the discretion of the College and that no commitment is made to specific future developments.
As part of this project we are separating our course application process from the main website to an internally hosted system developed by in-house developers. All we require is the ability to link from the main site to load this course database site. We will also need access to resources such as images and style sheets so that we can ensure brand consistency between the two sites. The exception to this is that we require a plugin to handle a very small course database for the MTI site. This will be managed by the College using appropriate security role permissions.
